Nutrition
Steps (5 steps)
In a large bowl, mix glutinous rice flour and sugar. Gradually add warm water while stirring to form a smooth, thick batter.
Grease the steaming pan with oil, pour in batter, spread evenly, and tap gently to release air bubbles.
Bring water to a boil in a steamer, place the pan, reduce to medium heat, and steam covered for 40 minutes. Maintain water level.
Insert a skewer into the center; if it comes out clean without raw batter, it is done. The surface should be translucent. Remove pan.
Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours until set. Cut into pieces and serve directly or pan-fry as desired.
Tips
Key tips: Batter must be smooth; ensure sufficient water in steamer and do not open lid during steaming; refrigerate for easier cutting.
