Grilled Tofu

Ingredients
9 items- Firm tofu 400g
- Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- Dark soy sauce 1 teaspoon
- Oyster sauce 1 tablespoon
- Honey 1 teaspoon
- Cooking oil 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (minced) 1 teaspoon
- White sesame seeds to taste
- Green onion (chopped) to taste

Cut firm tofu into 2cm thick slices, gently press with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps the tofu absorb flavors and develop a crispy crust.
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, minced garlic, and cooking oil. Stir until combined to make a grilling sauce.
Place the dried tofu pieces in a bowl, pour the sauce over, and gently toss to coat evenly. Marinate for 5 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (top and bottom heat). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and brush with a thin layer of oil.
Arrange the marinated tofu pieces on the baking sheet with space between them. Brush any remaining sauce over the tops.
Bake in the middle rack at 200°C for 12 minutes, until the surface turns golden and starts bubbling.
Remove the baking sheet, flip each tofu piece using tongs, and brush with any remaining sauce.
Return to the oven and bake for another 8 minutes, until both sides are golden brown and crispy; tapping with chopsticks should produce a crisp sound.
Take out the baked tofu, sprinkle with white sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot for best taste.
Tips
Use firm tofu (pressed tofu) for best results; it holds shape better and has a chewier texture. Do not over-marinate to avoid excess moisture. Adjust baking time based on your oven; watch closely in the last minutes to prevent burning.
