Ingredients
4 items- Salted lime (preserved lime) 1 piece
- Ice cubes to taste
- Sprite or 7UP 300 ml
- Mint leaves a few
Nutrition
Steps (6 steps)
Take one salted lime from jar, rinse off excess salt, and poke 5-6 holes with a fork to release flavors.
Place lime in a glass and gently press with a muddler or back of a spoon to extract some juice and salt.
Fill glass with ice cubes to about 80% full (approximately 150g) to keep drink cold.
Slowly pour chilled Sprite until about 1 cm below the rim, watching the bubbles rise.
Stir gently with a long spoon to mix salty and sweet flavors, then insert a straw.
Garnish with a mint sprig for extra aroma; serve immediately for best taste.
Tips
Salted limes need at least one month of pickling; the longer, the richer. If unavailable, substitute with fresh lime salted for 3 days (different taste). Replace Sprite with soda water and sugar if preferred.
