Dry-roast peanuts in a wok over low heat for 8-10 minutes until slightly charred and crunchy; remove skins. Roast sesame seeds until golden.

Put sugar and maltose in a pan with 30ml water, heat over low while stirring until melted and bubbly, to about 135°C (thread stage).

Immediately add roasted peanuts and sesame into syrup, stir quickly to coat evenly.

Transfer mixture into a greased square mold, press firmly and flatten to 1.5 cm thickness. Sprinkle a few sesame seeds on top.

Tips
