Macau Portuguese Lemon Tea
A Macau specialty blending Portuguese influence, sweet and sour lemon tea with rich tea aroma, perfect for summer refreshment.
Ingredients
5 items- Black tea bags 2
- Lemon 1
- White sugar 2 tbsp
- Water 500 ml
- Ice cubes As needed

Steps (6 steps)
In a small pot, bring 500 ml water to a boil over high heat, about 3 minutes.
Place 2 tea bags in a teapot, pour in boiling water, cover and steep for 3-5 minutes until strong.
Remove tea bags with tongs, add 2 tbsp sugar, stir until fully dissolved, about 1 minute.
Scrub lemon with salt, rinse, slice into thin rounds, remove seeds.
Add lemon slices to teapot, gently press with spoon to release juice, let cool for about 5 minutes.
Fill glasses with ice, pour cooled lemon tea, garnish with lemon slice.
Tips
Use fresh lemon and quality black tea; adjust sugar to taste; serve hot by omitting ice.
